The Front Office Medical Assistant / Bilingual Spanish Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a busy primary care clinic, ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient experience. Thisrole manages patient flow, schedules appointments, and maintains accurate records to support clinical operations. The Medical Receptionist facilitates clear communication between patients, medical staff, and administrative teams, contributing directly to the overall quality of care. The position requires handling sensitive patient information with strict confidentiality and professionalism in alignment with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. By combining strong administrative skills with compassionate, bilingual patient interaction, this role supports the smooth and effective operation of the medical facility.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming experience and accurately verifying personal and insurance information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain an organized and efficient schedule.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, respond to patient and visitor inquiries, and route calls to the appropriate medical or administrative personnel.
  • Process patient payments, collect co-pays, handle basic billing inquiries, and assist patients with insurance verification as needed.
  • Prepare, distribute, and organize patient forms, collect required documentation, and assist patients in completing paperwork accurately.
  • Provide courteous and effective customer service to patients and visitors in both English and Spanish, helping them navigate the check-in and check-out process.
  • Support medical staff with general administrative tasks, contributing to smooth daily operations in the front office.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Experience with appointment scheduling and managing patient flow in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to process patient payments and address basic billing and insurance inquiries.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in both languages.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering patient data and verifying information.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain calm under pressure in a high-volume clinic

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Miami, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
