This is What You’ll Do

• Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.

• Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk).

• Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure.

• Consult with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders.

• Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed.

• Maintain accurate documentation such as Physician Communication Logs and donor eligibility assessments.

• Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed.

• Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development.

• Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient, donor-focused environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is What it Takes

  • Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program, such as Physician, Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse). Certified/licensed as an emergency medical technician (EMT Basic, EMT 2-intermediate or 3- advanced/paramedic, if allowable).
  • Must work within the scope of the professional license/certification, as defined by the state in which the work is performed.
  • One (1)-year experience in the hospital, or field care or experience in plasma center preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Maintain current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation.
  • Must successfully complete training program and competency assessments using OPI- approved training modules or training curriculum.
  • Must maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
