Required Skills:
- Proven experience in Medical Oncology with comfort managing inpatient malignant oncology patients and hematology consults
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent patient management skills
- Ability to handle 20-25 patients daily with compassion and efficiency
- Proficiency in performing malignant and benign oncology procedures
- Effective supervision and leadership capabilities for supporting Advanced Practice Providers
- Comfort with inpatient and outpatient documentation (same-day; maximum three days for outpatient)
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and hospital staff
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with hospital privileges at United Hospital, Abbott Northwestern, and Mercy Hospital
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an oncology setting
- Familiarity with hospital-specific procedures and electronic medical record systems
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills to enhance patient communication
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Board Certified in Oncology and Hematology
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in medical oncology
- Valid Minnesota license or IMLC certification (or eligibility for licensing)
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing process completion within 90 days
- Availability for flexible schedule: inpatient coverage, inpatient overnight call from home, and outpatient services
- Support from a dedicated team, including APP support and hospitalist services
- Willingness to work 5 days a week, with shifts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and on-call service from home
