Required Skills
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience
- LA License in Clinical Laboratory Science
- Certification: ASCP or equivalent Medical Laboratory Scientist certification
- Proficiency in core laboratory areas: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Body Fluid Analysis
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort and capability to troubleshoot using various laboratory instruments
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar charting systems
- Competence in operating instrumentation such as Ortho VITROS 5600, Beckman DxC 700AU, DiaSorin Liaison XL, Radiometer ABL 90, Abbott Architect i1000, Beckman Coulter DxH 900, Cellavision, Diagnostica Stago STA-R Max, Sysmex UN-3000, and various tabletop analyzers
Nice to Have Skills
- Previous experience with Meditech Expanse Laboratory Information System
- Leadership or support experience in a clinical setting
- Cross-training in additional laboratory disciplines
- Flexibility to adapt to shift rotations and emergency troubleshooting
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Certification through ASCP or an equivalent professional body
- Prior experience working with diverse laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting
Other Requirements
- Valid LA Clinical Laboratory Science license
- Willingness to work 10-hour shifts (2PM-12:30AM), including weekends and scheduled holidays
- Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment and laboratory procedures
- Flexibility for shift changes and occasional emergency support, including possible travel to other facilities
- This position offers opportunities for overtime with supervisor approval and requires adherence to scheduled RTO policies
