Medical laboratory Scientist wage range $38.31- $66.35, EOE
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Has a professional responsibility for planning, performing, evaluating and reporting CLIA ’88 waived, moderately complex and highly complex testing. This includes pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical function; performing the day-to-day work of MLT/MLS to include performing quality control and quality assurance; instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; monitoring supply inventory; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with health care providers, patients, and other hospital personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree preferred with training to include the completion of a certified MLT/MLS program. MLT/MLS certification by ASCP, AMT, AABB or equivalent organization required. Minimum of 3 years Generalist experience in a hospital laboratoryincluding Blood Banking and phlebotomy preferred. Must be able to work independently. MA-P phlebotomy license required within 6 months of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May have to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Walking or standing to a significant degree.
Requires reaching, handling, fingering and feeling, extending arms and hands.
