Job Summary Up to $5,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months. Full Time, Nights

Position Summary The Medical Lab Scientist II processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operation, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; acts as resource to other laboratory personnel.

Additional responsibility may include assisting with new equipment validation and implementation; employee training and competency assessment; regulatory compliance responsibilities for CAP, TJC, AABB or other agencies, quality assurance and quality control performance and evaluation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by obtaining a Florida State license as a Medical Technologist. The above meets required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489 and 42 CFR 493.1491).

Meets the requirements to be a Technical Consultant, which is a minimum of a bachelors degree in a chemical, biological, physical, or medical technology plus a minimum of two years training or experience in non‐waived testing. This enables the employee to sign off other employees on competency.

EXPERIENCE: Required 2 years of experience as a clinical laboratory scientist experience in acute care facility or 1 year of experience and a Masters Degree.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION: Medical Technologist - State of Florida licensure.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure in multiple areas; ASCP Certification preferred.
