Location: UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital, CO, Fort Collins
Department: PVH Hematology
Work Schedule: PRN 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $33.82 - $50.73 per hour. Pay is dependent on applicants relevant experience.
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.
Summary
Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens.
- Interprets documents and reports test results.
- Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
- Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
- Within scope of job requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities.
- State licensure if required by law.
- Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
