Medical Billing & Collections Specialist - Tarrytown, NY | $27/hr
A large, established healthcare organization is actively hiring Medical Insurance Collectors to support high-volume accounts receivable (A/R) and insurance follow-up efforts.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in medical billing, medical collections, or revenue cycle management looking for a stable, full-time opportunity with long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform insurance follow-up on outstanding medical claims
- Handle medical collections and reduce accounts receivable balances
- Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims; submit appeals
- Review and interpret EOBs (Explanation of Benefits)
- Post payments and ensure accurate documentation of transactions
- Process refunds and maintain account accuracy
- Utilize CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge during claim review
- Communicate with insurance companies and internal departments
Qualifications
- Experience in medical collections, medical billing, or A/R follow-up
- Strong understanding of insurance claims, denials, and EOBs
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT, ICD-10)
- Experience with payment posting and refunds
- Familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen, Epic, or similar preferred)
- CPC certification is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
