    Medical Director Responsibilities and Facility Details

    Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking a Medical Director for Consultation Liaison Psychiatry to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

    This role provides leadership for a hospital-based consult liaison psychiatry team serving patients across all age groups. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, identifying appropriate levels of psychiatric care, managing neuropsychiatric symptoms, and supporting transitions of care.

    The Medical Director will provide services in both emergency department and inpatient medical unit settings while collaborating closely with the Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and hospital partners to ensure high-quality behavioral health care.

    Medical Director Qualifications and Skills

    • M.D. or D.O. degree required
    • Board certification in a specialty appropriate for the service
    • Active Alaska medical license or ability to obtain
    • Eligible for medical staff membership and clinical privileges
    • Minimum of two years post-residency physician experience preferred
    • Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills
    • Experience in consultation liaison psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, or integrated behavioral health settings preferred
    • Current BLS certification required; additional certifications as applicable to specialty and scope of practice
