Medical Director Veterinarian – Wells, ME

 

A veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead its clinical team while continuing to provide high-quality patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and shaping the future of a growing practic

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals
  • Lead and mentor the veterinary team, promoting a collaborative and positive culture
  • Establish and uphold medical standards and best practices
  • Partner with hospital leadership on operational and strategic initiatives
  • Support team development through coaching, training, and performance feedback
  • Ensure high-quality patient care and client satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
 

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active or eligible veterinary license
  • Previous leadership experience OR strong interest in a leadership role
  • Strong clinical skills in general practice (wellness, surgery, dentistry)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for mentorship, team development, and high-quality medicine
