Our organization is on the lookout for an experienced and innovative Medical Director to spearhead our Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery (CVT) program within a dynamic hospital-based physician group located in Arlington, VA. This position merges clinical duties with leadership roles, focusing on the enhancement, quality, and integration of the CVT service line.
Primary ResponsibilitiesGuide, develop, and bolster the Cardiovascular and Thoracic (CVT) team and service line by ensuring adequate provider coverage, encouraging professional growth, and implementing initiatives that improve clinical productivity and outcomes.
Enhance the visibility and outreach of the Cardiovascular Surgery Program through community education efforts, outreach programs, and the establishment of a regionally integrated Cardiac Care network.
Guarantee clinical excellence in quality and patient safety by managing updates to policies and procedures, coordinating care, conducting regular performance evaluations, and pinpointing areas for ongoing improvement.
Support the financial viability of the CVT program by advocating for cost-effective practices that benefit patients, staff, and the wider health system across the office, CVICU, and CV Stepdown Unit.
Work in partnership with administrative and business development teams to facilitate the strategic expansion of cardiovascular services, including new facilities and service lines that align with our organization’s mission and long-term objectives.
Engage in strategic planning and physician recruitment efforts.
MD or DO; Board Certified in Cardiothoracic or Vascular Surgery.
Must be eligible for licensure in Virginia.
Preferred 5+ years of experience post-training.
Demonstrated leadership in clinical or programmatic capacities.
Experience with EPIC is preferred.
