Compensation: $27/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Collections Specialist in Philadelphia, PA for our client, supporting insurance collections, claims follow-up, and revenue cycle operations within a physician practice environment. This role focuses on resolving outstanding claims, managing denials, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance carriers. The position offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume healthcare setting with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities as the Medical Collections Specialist:
- Claims Follow-Up: Monitor and follow up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure timely payment.
- Denial Management: Analyze denied claims and take corrective action.
- Appeals Processing: Prepare and submit appeals to insurance carriers.
- Payment & Refund Processing: Support payment posting, reconciliations, and refunds.
- Coding & Documentation: Apply CPT/ICD-10 knowledge and maintain accurate records.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications for the Medical Collections Specialist:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: Prior medical collections experience within a physician practice is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of EOBs, insurance claims, and denial workflows is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with EMR/PM systems (NextGen preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are required.
