Salary/Hourly Rate: $22/hr
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Receptionist to provide clinical and administrative support, ensuring an exceptional patient experience. This role requires a team-oriented professional who is willing to be cross-trained across both clinical and front desk functions in a fast-paced interventional pain management practice. This is a full-time, onsite position based primarily at our Somerset, NJ headquarters. The role requires regular travel to satellite offices, with schedules planned in advance to support both operational needs and a healthy work-life balance. Reimbursement is provided for mileage and tolls.
Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant/Receptionist: - Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, update medical histories, and maintain accurate records in the EMR system (eClinicalWorks).
- Assist physicians during examinations and in-office procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality care throughout each visit.
- Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms and clinical areas to maintain an efficient and organized patient care environment.
- Greet patients, facilitate check-in and check-out, answer incoming calls, and provide professional, compassionate customer service.
- Schedule appointments across multiple locations, verify insurance coverage, scan and maintain patient documents, and prepare charts prior to visits.
- Educate patients on procedures, provide discharge instructions, conduct post-procedure follow-up calls, and ensure patients understand their ongoing care plans.
- Manage front desk and administrative responsibilities, including posting payments, tracking patient flow, maintaining clinical supplies, and coordinating daily office operations.
Required Experience/Skills for the Medical Assistant/Receptionist:- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to accurately manage clinical and administrative responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between office locations as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Medical Assistant/Receptionist:- Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, or a related specialty practice is strongly preferred.
- eClinicalWorks experience is a plus.
Education Requirements: - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential is required.
