Position Summary: InHands Postoperative Therapy & Recovery is seeking a compassionate, professional, and highly dependable Medical Assistant & Patient Transport Coordinator to support our luxury postoperative recovery suites and outpatient clinical operations. 

 

This unique role combines traditional medical assistant responsibilities with hands-on patient support, recovery suite assistance, clinical operations, and patient transportation. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, enjoys working closely with patients, and takes pride in creating a safe, seamless, and elevated recovery experience. 

 

This position may assist licensed nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and administrative teams while serving as a trusted representative of the InHands brand. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Patient Care Support 

  • Assist licensed nursing staff with non-clinical and delegated patient care activities. 
  • Prepare recovery suites for incoming patients. 
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and comfort measures as appropriate. 
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to licensed clinical staff. 
  • Assist with vital signs collection and documentation as permitted by training and scope. 
  • Support patient admissions, discharges, and room orientation. 
  • Provide exceptional hospitality and customer service throughout the patient experience. 
  • Assist with meal service, hydration, and basic patient comfort needs. 

 

Clinical Operations 

  • Prepare treatment rooms and clinical spaces for patient appointments. 
  • Clean, disinfect, and restock treatment areas, recovery suites, and equipment. 
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies, linens, snacks, beverages, and patient amenities. 
  • Support therapists and nurses with treatment setup and breakdown. 
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and organizational policies. 
  • Assist with patient scheduling, documentation preparation, and administrative tasks as assigned. 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and operational projects. 

 

Patient Transportation 

  • Safely transport patients to and from follow-up appointments, pharmacies, imaging centers, airports, hotels, and other approved destinations. 
  • Assist patients entering and exiting vehicles safely. 
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism during all transportation activities. 
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. 
  • Keep company vehicles clean, organized, fueled, and presentation-ready. 
  • Coordinate transportation schedules with nursing and administrative teams. 
  • Provide a calm, reassuring presence for patients throughout transport. 

 

Customer Experience & Hospitality 

  • Create a warm, welcoming, luxury-level experience for every patient and guest. 
  • Anticipate patient needs and proactively provide assistance. 
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. 
  • Represent InHands with excellence when interacting with surgeons, healthcare providers, patients, and family members. 

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Required 

  • Medical Assistant certification or equivalent healthcare experience. 
  • Current BLS/CPR certification. 
  • Valid California Driver's License. 
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements. 
  • Ability to safely assist patients with transfers and mobility. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality mindset. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. 
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. 

 

Preferred

  • Experience in plastic surgery, aesthetics, postoperative care, rehabilitation, concierge medicine, hospitality, or recovery services. 
  • CNA, EMT, or additional healthcare certifications. 
  • Experience working with acute postoperative patients. 
  • Experience driving patients or providing concierge transportation services.
