Role Overview
As a Medical Assistant or LPN in our busy Cardiology practice, you will support providers in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care while ensuring efficient daily clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Obtain patient histories and prepare patients for visits
- Record vital signs and document clinical information in the EMR
- Perform routine clinical procedures and specimen collection as needed
- Follow up on diagnostic testing, referrals, and provider orders
- Communicate test results and care instructions to patients
- Maintain patient education materials and support care coordination
- Manage medical equipment and clinical supplies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and BayCare standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Preferred
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training
Experience
Preferred
- Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice or specialty clinic
- Cardiology experience preferred
Licensure / Certification
Required
- Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
- NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician)
- Paramedic
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
