Founded in 1921 Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawaii. Straub is home to the Pacific Regions only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawaii such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement. The board-certified physicians in the Oncology department evaluate and treat all types of cancer and blood disorders. At Straubs newly renovated Outpatient Treatment Center patients receive blood transfusions chemotherapy nutritional support antibiotics and other IV therapies. Straubs Certified Oncology Nurses are trained to provide education and emotional support to patients and their families. The Straub Cancer Center team includes board certified physicians nurses registered dietitians outpatient and inpatient staff and a quality of life professional. In addition to treatment and therapy the Center offers family education and support group sessions to help patients and their families cope with illness. As a Medical Assistant in our Oncology department you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities.
