Kidney Associates of Kansas City is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a positive attitude and strong work ethic to join our growing healthcare team. This role supports both clinical and administrative functions while working closely with providers and patients managing chronic kidney disease.

Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care at our main office location. The ideal candidate has EMR experience, excellent communication skills, and the initiative to support all aspects of clinic operations while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient rooming
  • Administer injections
  • Reconcile patient medication lists daily
  • Order labs for physicians and nurse practitioners
  • Reconcile laboratory results from fax and EMR interfaces
  • Perform in-office urine spins and prepare/send specimens as needed
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR
  • Respond professionally to patient and caller inquiries
  • Assist with refill requests and prior authorizations
  • Coordinate with other medical offices and pharmacies
  • Support daily clinic operations as needed

Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • No nights or weekends

Qualifications

Required

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or willingness to learn
  • Organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • 1+ year of experience in a clinical or outpatient medical setting
  • Prior experience administering injections
