A healthcare network in New York City is seeking a Medical Assistant for its OBGYN department in Brooklyn. This role supports patient flow, provides clinical assistance under physician supervision, and helps deliver a positive experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Setting: Ambulatory care center

Responsibilities:

  • Support patient flow by greeting patients, coordinating rooming, and helping maintain an efficient daily schedule.
  • Assist with patient intake, including documenting medical history, vital signs, and chief complaint information in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide clinical support during exams and procedures, including preparation of exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and ordered clinical tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, and other routine assistance as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized clinical work area while supporting patient questions, referrals, and follow-up needs.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital or doctor's office setting
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Experience taking vital signs and assisting with procedures
  • Experience working in an OBGYN, general gynecology, or related women's health setting
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to float and provide coverage as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual
  • CPR certification
  • EKG training
  • Experience with hysteroscopy
  • Experience with EMR systems and patient registration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
