    Job Title: Medical Assistant

    Location: Glen Allen, VA 23059
    Duration: 12 Weeks (Possible Extension)


    Shift Schedule

    • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support both front and back-office operations in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will assist with patient care, administrative responsibilities, and clinical procedures while maintaining excellent communication and teamwork.

    This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative outpatient setting serving patients aged 2 and above.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet, room, and prepare patients for provider visits in a professional manner
    • Schedule appointments and assist with patient communications
    • Answer and appropriately direct incoming phone calls
    • Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately
    • Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and assist with lab procedures
    • Administer vaccines and provide clinical support as needed
    • Perform Point of Care Testing (POCT)
    • Assist with EKG testing when required
    • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
    • Support front-office tasks, including patient fee collection
    • Collaborate with providers and healthcare staff to ensure smooth clinic workflow
    • Follow clinic policies and maintain patient confidentiality

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (externship not included)
    • Hands-on experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture
    • Recent experience with patient scheduling, rooming, and recording vitals
    • Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
    • Ability to multitask in a team-oriented environment
    • High attention to detail and professionalism

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Medical Assistant Certification
    • Occupational Health experience
    • Experience with Athena EMR
    • EKG testing experience
    • Recent POCT experience
    • Current BLS/CPR certification
