Responsibilities:
  • Accurately obtains vital signs – height, weight, temperature.
  • Accurately schedules appointments via phone for patients according to the practice requirements and confirms appointments by calling patients in advance of appointment date. Provides primary and back up coverage for scheduling as needed and per office guidelines and protocols.
  • Acts as the physician-patient liaison. Troubleshoots patient concerns. Provides information to clients, supervisors, and visitors regarding patient status, waiting room and treatment room delays, visitation status, and general information as needed. Communicate non-complex medical information and normal lab results to patients in an understandable manner.
  • Answers and takes messages off of the prescription line and the test results line. Gives prescription messages to provider for approval and then calls medications to the pharmacy. Updates pharmacy information in computer and submits prescription requests to the physician. Phones prescription refills into pharmacy when instructed by the physician.
  • Assists with/maintains medication sample logs to meet pharmacy protocols. Ensure all documentation is completed in every aspect. Serves as a liaison for pharmaceutical representatives, organize drug samples and dispose of expired samples on a monthly basis. Monitors medications used in patient rooms for open date and expiration.
  • Chaperones providers as requested with examinations.
  • Cleans all patient rooms and equipment effectively after visits.
  • Accurately prepares patients’ electronic health records per practice guidelines.
  • Maintains exam room equipment and orders designated supplies as needed. .
  • Observes and reports the physical findings on the patient to the provider. Effectively communicates with co-workers and provider staff in a professional manner to facilitate patient flow.
  • Prepares appropriate documentation for the electronic medical record – to include the patient’s medication list, surgical history, medication allergies, past medical history and chief complaint in a timely fashion so physicians’ remains on time.
  • Provides and assists with telephone coverage, answering multiple telephone lines, direct and assist callers appropriately. Complete phone messages and schedule appointments in the manner prescribed by office policy and procedure.
  • Registers patients as per protocol.
  • Transports patients as required.
  • Performs phlebotomy tasks and administers injections per protocol and standard procedures.
  • Travel off site as needed.
  • Maintains specified inventory log each day and reports any discrepancies to the Practice Manager ASAP; Examples include products, refrigerated items and medications.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Education and Work Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic
  • Other Requirements:
    • May be required to travel to satellite offices
Min: USD $17.83/Hr. Max: USD $26.75/Hr. Salary Information: Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications. Benefits:
