Job Summary

Medical Assistant $21.42 - $23.09 hourly

LPN $24.67 - $26.69 hourly

This position is eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $4,000.

Health/Falls Community Health has an exciting opportunity available for Medical Assistants or Licensed Practical Nurse! We are seeking Medical Assistants that have a Medical Assistant certification. Our pharmacy services are continuing to grow, so we are looking for a qualified individual who is interested in working in both medical and pharmacy settings. Health/Falls Community Health will provide on-the-job training for the hired individual to obtain their pharmacy technician certification.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist pharmacists and nursing staff with pharmaceutical services.
  2. Assist with data entry, tracking, and general coordination of pharmaceutical inventory.
  3. Interview and register, patient demographic, financial and medical information.
  4. Coordinate and assist in maintaining pharmaceutical inventory including, ordering, stocking, reconciling and submitting reports.
  5. Assist patients with questions and necessary paperwork relating to pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs.
  6. Work closely with clinical teams as a resource for information, coordination of care, and administrative duties.
  7. Document patient interactions within the medical records system.
  8. Complete various projects as assigned.
  9. Work as a member of a patient care team and facilitate patient centered care.
  10. Complete and follow up on referrals from clinical staff.
  11. Participate with quality management work groups and teams to improve patient population health outcomes.
  12. Effectively communicate with representatives of diverse and vulnerable populations.
  13. Perform other such duties and functions as are necessary or incidental to the proper performance of this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Certified or registered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or other national accrediting body with a minimum of one (1) year's medical assistance experience preferred; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Must possess, or be able to obtain within one (1) year of hire, Pharmacy Technician certification.

Supplemental Information

Ability to provide professional health care services independently and as a member of a team.

Demonstrate ability to learn and understand basic terminology for pharmaceuticals including prescription medications and immunizations.

Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to understand inventory controls with a strong attention to detail.

Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all clinic matters.

Maintain a friendly, courteous manner with patients, coworkers and external partners.

Strong collaboration skills with internal staff and external customers and partners.

Ability and willingness to participate in training and assume duties as assigned.

Ability to perform duties per education and orientation training.

Demonstrate basic computer skills or ability to learn computer skills needed for the position.
