Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient communications professionally and courteously, ensuring accurate message documentation and timely delivery to appropriate team members
  • Maintain comprehensive telephone contact records according to established protocols, with particular attention to symptomatic patient communications and follow-up requirements
  • Prepare thoroughly for patient visits by reviewing medical records in advance, ensuring all relevant clinical information is accessible and organized
  • Monitor patient status during cardiovascular procedures, collecting and documenting essential clinical data with precision and attention to detail
  • Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic tests under provider direction, adhering to all state regulations and organizational standards
  • Advocate for patients by coordinating care, ensuring comfort, maintaining safety protocols, and prioritizing patient satisfaction
  • Educate patients using evidence-based protocols to support treatment adherence and optimize health outcomes
  • Facilitate seamless communication among healthcare providers, clinical staff, patients, and external service partners
  • Uphold strict compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Support departmental projects and special initiatives as assigned by leadership

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Strong medical terminology knowledge
  • Clear verbal communication skills for patient and team interactions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • 2-4 years of related healthcare experience
  • Bilingual capabilities (English and Spanish preferred)
  • Experience in a cardiology or specialized clinical setting

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods while maintaining focus and accuracy
  • Capacity to manage multiple telephone calls simultaneously while multitasking effectively
  • Sustained attention to detail during extended data entry and documentation tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry light objects and retrieve patient files as needed
  • Clear verbal communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
