About the Role:
Intracoastal Dermatology and Skin Surgery is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing team in Leland, NC! This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled dermatology professionals in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment where your contributions truly make a difference.



Responsibilities:

• Assist dermatologists and clinical staff with patient exams, procedures, and skin surgery preparations
• Room patients, record vital signs, and document medical histories in the EHR system (Modernizing Medicine - EMA)
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, surgical trays, and sterile fields
• Assist with dermatological procedures including biopsies, excisions, Mohs, and cosmetic treatments
• Educate patients on post-procedure care, medications, and follow-up instructions
• Manage patient flow, scheduling, and coordination between clinical and front office staff
• Handle specimen labeling, pathology submissions, and lab result tracking

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred
• Prior experience in dermatology, medical office, or clinical setting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and medical documentation
• Knowledge of sterile technique, minor surgical assist, and clinical procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-first, compassionate approach
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a busy, team-oriented clinical environment
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
