Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We are committed to caring for our patients with purpose and integrity and providing our team members with the support they need.

We are looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant II (MA II) for assisting our healthcare professionals at our Buncombe County health centers:
Hominy Valley Health Center (HVHC)- 1914 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715                         
Minnie Jones Health Center (MJHC)- 257 Biltmore Ave, Asheville, NC 28801 
 
The full-time Medical Assistant II may choose from 2 schedules:
  • 4 days a week (10 hours a day) for 40 hours weekly
  • 5 days a week (8 hours a day) for 40 hours weekly
Our clinics are only open during the day, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm.
Therefore, MAs are not required to to work evenings, nights, weekends or WNCCHS observed holidays.
 
We recognize the hard work and initiative of our Medical Assistants (MAs). MAs providing direct patient care may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting or exceeding quality and productivity measures.
 
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, required
  • One year experience as Medical Assistant in an outpatient health care setting, preferrable
  • Phlebotomy experience required
  • Current Basic Life Support Certificate, required
  • Experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
