Kapiolani Medical Specialists KMS is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawaiis women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research, and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, and other staff covering newborn to womens health services at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. The team of trained doctors at the Kapi'olani Pediatric Gastroenterology department is one-of-a-kind in the state and provides comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents suffering from gastrointestinal disorders. These can range from abdominal pain and constipation to hepatitis and malabsorptive disorders.
As a Medical Assistant, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff at KMS that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families in our Gastroenterology department. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities for clients of all ages. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawaiis people.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT) OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Registry of Medical Assistants OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card. Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.
Preferred Experience: One year of back office medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physicians office, or related experience.
