Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our clients medical facility based in Fort Pierce, FL 34982. This is a 6-month assignment, with possibility of extension or conversion opportunity, and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization.

• Pay Rate: $20-23/hour (on W2)
• Pay Rate is based on experience
• Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Job Responsibilities

Perform all duties within the scope of Medical Assistant practice, including:

• Operating diagnostic equipment without test interpretation
• Performing EKGs
• Removing staples from superficial wounds
• Changing wound dressings
• Obtaining cultures
• Administering non-intravenous medications
• Collecting specimens via non-invasive techniques (venipuncture or capillary methods)

Conduct quality control checks on medical equipment and prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments using an autoclave.

Room patients according to established policies and procedures and prepare patients for examinations.

Accurately and timely document patient care and clinical activities in the medical record.

Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians and in accordance with company standards and policies.

Maintain patient confidentiality and consistently treat patients with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.

Organize stock, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms, ensuring instruments are properly sterilized.

Practice and adhere to standard infection control and safety precautions at all times.

Perform telephone and in-person patient screening, limited to intake and information gathering without exercising independent clinical judgment.

Support and comply with Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school or GED or equivalent
• Current Medical Assistant Certification Registration
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• ECE
• ClinicalWorks proficiency preferred but not required
