TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Assistant in Fort Myers, FL for our client, supporting patient intake, administrative coordination, and clinical assistance within an outpatient healthcare setting. This role focuses on front office operations, patient flow, and basic clinical support while working closely with physicians and staff. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with consistent patient interaction and administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant:
Patient Intake: Manage patient check-in and check-out while ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information.
Scheduling: Coordinate appointments, reminders, and follow-ups to support clinic operations.
Clinical Support: Assist with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients for visits.
Insurance Verification: Verify coverage and assist with referrals, authorizations, and documentation.
Medical Records: Maintain accurate and timely patient records within the EMR system.
Administrative Tasks: Support chart preparation, prescription refills, and general office coordination.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and clinical workflows is preferred.
Technical Skills: Experience with EMR systems and proficiency in basic computer applications is required.
Skills & Attributes: Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills are required.
