Founded in 1921 Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawaii.

The Resource Team provides quality comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility covering for regular staff members that for a variety of reasons are unable to attend to their normal positions.

The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that enables members to float to various areas in Medical Subspecialties in the clinics.

As a Medical Assistant you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families.

In this role you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Resource Team department.

Minimum Qualifications High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.

Certified Medical Assistant CMA OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry ABR-OE from the American Association of Medical Assistants AAMA OR Registered Medical Assistant RMA from the American Medical Technologist AMT OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant NCMA from the National Center for Competency testing NCCT OR Registered Medical Assistant RMA from American Registry of Medical Assistants OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant NRCMA from National Association for Health Professionals NAHP OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification CMAC from the American Medical Certification Association AMCA OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant CCMA from the National Healthcareer Association NHA.

Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support BLS CPR Card. Must Be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

 

Preferred Experience Six 6 months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology CPT and/or International Classification of Disease ICD-10 coding. Experience with electronic medical records.
