Job Summary

Correctional Health Services (CHS) is seeking qualified and dedicated Medical Assistants / Correctional Health Technicians (MA/CHT) to provide high-quality patient care within a correctional healthcare setting. The MA/CHT will work under the supervision of licensed medical or nursing personnel and perform clinical and administrative duties within the scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
• Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints
• Perform routine clinical procedures, tests, and examinations
• Administer injections, immunizations, and TB skin tests per protocol
• Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program accredited as per Arizona regulations
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role
• Strong computer and documentation skills

Required Certifications & Documents

• Certificate of completion from an accredited MA program (as per Arizona Revised Statutes A.R.S. 32-1456(D) or applicable exceptions)
• Current N95 Fit Test Certification
• Current First Aid Certification

Preferred Skills

• Experience in correctional or institutional healthcare settings
• Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, secure environment
