Job Summary
Correctional Health Services (CHS) is seeking qualified and dedicated Medical Assistants / Correctional Health Technicians (MA/CHT) to provide high-quality patient care within a correctional healthcare setting. The MA/CHT will work under the supervision of licensed medical or nursing personnel and perform clinical and administrative duties within the scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints
Perform routine clinical procedures, tests, and examinations
Administer injections, immunizations, and TB skin tests per protocol
Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of a Medical Assistant training program accredited as per Arizona regulations
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role
Strong computer and documentation skills
Required Certifications & Documents
Certificate of completion from an accredited MA program (as per Arizona Revised Statutes A.R.S. 32-1456(D) or applicable exceptions)
Current N95 Fit Test Certification
Current First Aid Certification
Preferred Skills
Experience in correctional or institutional healthcare settings
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, secure environment
