
The Medical Assistant is responsible for gathering and documenting patient screening data, obtaining vitals, preparing charts, drawing labs, maintaining their area, assisting providers, and other various activities needed to ensure patient care is prioritized. This role provides patients with safe, quality care throughout their treatment and disease process under the direction of the Provider or the oversight of a direct supervisor.

- Daily Calibrate machines.
- Daily Check exam rooms.
- Daily Temperature Log.
- Daily Perform quality controls.
- Daily Dispense injections.
- Daily Process labs and send them out.
- Daily Check MA inbox, task inbox, TEAMs, and email.
- Daily Restock and clean the lab area.
- Daily Assess medications and supply inventory.
- Daily Assist with bone marrow biopsies, perform injections, and blood draws.
- Daily Scan documents.
- Daily Prep charts (done the day before).
- Daily Update IOD spreadsheets.
- Daily Room patients and update: Vital Signs (daily), Medication Reconciliation (daily), Allergies (daily), Pain Scale (daily), Tobacco - Screening (dated current year), and Depression Screening (dated current year)
- Daily Perform double-checks for other team members, to ensure medication accuracy.
- Daily Communicate with nurses regarding patients ready for infusion.
- Daily Document in MAR appropriately and concurrently with medication administration.
- Daily Clean exam rooms in between patients and clean and restock exam rooms at end of day.
- Daily Log out of all systems before the end of day.
- Weekly Clean Piccolo machine filter.
- Weekly Check Cell-dyne reagents.
- Weekly Order supplies, B&B injection, inventory, and relay to team lead if supplies are needed.
- Weekly Check genetic kit testing supplies.
- Weekly Check sharp container fill levels.
- Weekly Check bone marrow biopsy supplies.
- Monthly Calibrate machines, reconcile temperature logs and perform monthly quality checks.
- Monthly Perform Piccolo controls.
- Monthly Update and check Cell-dyne binder.
- Monthly Follow-up with submitted genetic tests.
- Monthly Deep clean.
- Quarterly Check if MLE is due, reagent supplies check.
- Semi-Annually Full Cell-dyne re-calibration
- Ongoing Complete training(s) on time, as assigned

Education and Experience:
· Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with certification.
· Current CPR certification.
· Excellent phlebotomy skills.
· Knowledge of medical laboratory procedures.
· Basic computer knowledge.
· Previous Oncology/ Hematology experience (preferred)
Additional Requirements:
· Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional walking.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Able to travel to satellite clinics when necessary.
· Must be willing and able to lift up to 25 pounds.
