Overview:
The Medical Assistant is accountable for the provision of care as delegated according to the policies, procedures and standards of Conway Regional Health System. The Medical Assistant will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:
This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred
- ENT, surgical, or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR), preferably Meditech or similar system
Clinical Skills
- Proficient in patient rooming, vital signs, and medical history documentation
- Knowledge of sterile technique and assisting with in-office procedures
- Familiarity with ENT-specific procedures (e.g., ear irrigation, assisting with scopes, instrument handling) preferred
- Ability to prepare and turn over exam/procedure rooms efficiently
- Understanding of infection control and central sterile processes
Administrative Skills
- Ability to manage referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling workflows
- Experience answering multi-line phones and communicating with patients professionally
- Basic understanding of insurance verification and patient check-in/check-out processes
- Comfortable collecting payments and documenting accurately
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong communication skills with patients, providers, and team members
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and patient-centered care (AIDET principles preferred)
- Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple providers

- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing clinic needs
