Pay From: $20 per hour

MUST:
2 plus years of Medical Assistant experience
Medical Assistant certification required
Diploma Required
CPR certification is required
Demonstrated skill in venipuncture.
Working knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
Working knowledge of blood and body fluid precautions.
Experience with Surgical Scheduling
Experience Prior Authorizations for Surgeries through a specialty practice

DUTIES:
Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record.
Follows established guidelines to obtain necessary testing based on the chief complaint prior to the exam.
Prepares patient for examination by the health care provider.
Performs routine office testing, including but not limited to; phlebotomy, sweat and hydration tests, urinalysis, vision testing, hearing screening, pulmonary function testing, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Assists provider with procedures and minor surgical procedures.
Obtains necessary patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
Administers and documents injections and other medications given.
Assists provider with clarification of patient instruction such as, diagnostic test preparation, and medication administration.
Exhibits compassion and empathy for all patients and families always.
Sterilizes all reusable instruments and equipment as needed.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
Provides the care needed as described in the unit/area/department policies and procedures.
Utilizes appropriately and accurately the electronic system to perform required duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
