Under the direction of the Chief Research Tech Supervisor, the Hospital Assistant supports daily operations within a high-volume ambulatory MRI imaging facility that provides both clinical and research services. The incumbent assists with patient and research participant intake, vital signs and health screenings, MRI safety screening, rooming, and post-appointment processes to ensure efficient workflow and patient throughput. The role also supports preparation and turnover of exam rooms and MRI suites, equipment checks, inventory management, and maintenance of required clinical and research documentation. This position is essential to maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient imaging operations while supporting both patient care and research protocol activities. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
High School graduation including three years as a Medical Assistant in a medical practice, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience performing patient intake or supporting clinical workflows
Medical Assistant Certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting with strong attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in a high-volume imaging environment.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ability to adhere to patient confidentiality standards (HIPAA) and infection control protocols.
