Position Summary
At Alabama Anesthesiology & Pain Consultants, our Medical Assistants are an essential part of our patient care team. This role combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with outstanding customer service to ensure each patient receives safe, efficient, and compassionate care from check-in through treatment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
  • Six months to one year of clinical experience preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Pain management or specialty practice experience is a plus
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and prepare patients for provider visits
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and medication lists
  • Assist physicians with examinations and in-office procedures
  • Prepare, stock, and maintain exam and procedure rooms
  • Administer injections within scope of practice
  • Perform EKGs as directed
  • Schedule appointments and assist with patient flow
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
  • Collaborate with physicians and team members to provide exceptional patient care
