Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant II to support both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced outpatient care environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality patient care, accurate documentation, and smooth clinic operations.
This position offers an opportunity for extension or permanent placement based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients and provide excellent customer service
  • Perform clinical duties including:
    • Taking vital signs
    • Administering injections
    • Performing diagnostic tests
    • Collecting specimens and drawing blood
    • Preparing and maintaining examination rooms
  • Gather patient history, discuss symptoms, and accurately input data into electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Assist physicians and nurses with direct patient care
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, documentation, and patient coordination
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and exam rooms
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment

Required Qualifications

  • 1 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical (back-office) setting
  • Active Medical Assistant certification or registration (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and EMR systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Willingness to participate in required health screenings

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other language)
  • Hands-on phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Familiarity with HEDIS measures, CPT/ICD coding, or value-based care
  • Additional certifications such as Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
