Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am-5pm; Wednesday 10am-6pm

Overview

We are now hiring a Medical Assistant in Clinton Township, MI. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity supporting a family medicine setting. We are seeking a dependable, communicative, self-starter with strong clinical support skills and experience in an internal medicine or family medicine environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient screening following approved clinical protocols
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prep them for examination, treatment, or procedures
• Obtain vital signs, patient history, and visit details in the electronic health record
• Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments according to provider direction
• Administer and document oral and injectable medications and immunizations as ordered
• Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations
• Handle patient communication through phone calls, messages, and portal requests
• Enter medication, lab, radiology, refill, and referral orders
• Collect and process specimens
• Perform CLIA-waived testing, EKGs, respiratory testing, and phlebotomy as needed
• Schedule appointments and outpatient procedures
• Assist with insurance pre-authorizations and referral coordination
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, equipment, and infection-control standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

·         Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship

• Current BLS certification
• Internal medicine or family medicine experience

• Experience using EPIC electronic medical records preferred
