Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical AR & Denials Specialist for a growing healthcare organization. This is a three-month contract opportunity based onsite in Downtown Chicago, IL. Candidates must be local to the Chicago area, as this position requires working onsite.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable, denials, appeals, and insurance follow-up activities across a multi-site healthcare practice. Working within eClinicalWorks, the Revenue Cycle Specialist will play a key role in identifying reimbursement opportunities, resolving complex claim issues, and supporting overall revenue cycle performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive healthcare billing professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration, and making a measurable impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage accounts receivable follow-up and collections activities across multiple providers and facilities
Research, resolve, and appeal denied claims with commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage plans
Submit corrected claims, supporting documentation, rebills, and appeals to optimize reimbursement outcomes
Review referrals, eligibility, authorizations, payment variances, and claim status to identify and resolve issues
Collaborate with revenue cycle team members to troubleshoot challenges and improve reimbursement workflows
Maintain accurate documentation and account activity within eClinicalWorks
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have hands-on experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW) in a healthcare billing, collections, or revenue cycle setting
Strong background in accounts receivable management, denials resolution, appeals, and insurance follow-up
Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and HMO plans
Familiarity with multi-provider, multi-location, or third-party billing environments
Detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality work
Must be local to the Downtown Chicago, IL area and available to work onsite
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$24-$30/hour, depending on experience
Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM-4:00 PM or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM)
