Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)

Contract-to-Hire | $20-$26/hour

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a healthcare organization in Indianapolis to hire a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a fully onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity for someone with strong experience in healthcare billing, insurance follow-up, and denial resolution. Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up on aged medical accounts receivable and resolve unpaid or denied claims

  • Work directly with insurance carriers and patients to secure timely payments

  • Review and interpret EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) to determine next steps

  • Manage insurance denials, appeals, and claim corrections

  • Research and resolve discrepancies in billing, coding, and payment application

  • Monitor AR aging reports and prioritize accounts for follow-up

  • Maintain accurate documentation and update records in billing systems

  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve reimbursement processes

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical accounts receivable or healthcare billing experience required

  • Strong knowledge of insurance follow-up, denials, and appeals

  • Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers preferred

  • Ability to read and understand EOBs and ERAs

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and healthcare billing systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar preferred)

  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
