Position Overview

We’re hiring a Medical Accounts Receivable Assistant to support patient collections by reviewing open balances, making outbound calls to collect payment or set up payment plans, and assisting with inbound patient billing calls as needed.

Location

• Stuart, FL 34996
• Note: Role requires the ability to work remotely with reliable internet (as needed/required)

Schedule & Pay

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
• Type: Temporary, full-time (40 hrs/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient account balances for accuracy
• Place outbound calls to collect payments and/or set up payment plans
• Investigate patient billing inquiries and communicate findings clearly
• Answer inbound patient calls and provide support as needed
• Document actions taken and account/billing status thoroughly
• Understand and apply Medicare guidelines and payer requirements
• Identify trends and communicate potential resolutions to leadership
• Maintain productivity and quality standards for the department

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year of outbound patient collections experience in the medical industry
• Must be able to read and interpret an Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

Preferred Skills

• Strong professional verbal and written communication
• Calm demeanor with ability to de-escalate difficult conversations
• Knowledge of insurance EOBs and denial reasoning
• Ability to navigate multiple systems and enter accurate data
• Strong organization, time management, and prioritization
• Intermediate math skills (plus moderate Excel knowledge)
• Call-center / outbound dialer experience is a plus

Physical / Work Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods; occasional standing/walking
• Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to work standard business hours
