Primary Duties: The Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) is currently seeking an attorney to fill the role of MFCU Director. MFCU investigates and prosecutes Medicaid fraud by health care providers and the abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation of patients in any facility that accepts Medicaid funds.
The MFCU Director supervises the 10-person MFCU team made up of prosecutors, investigators, auditors, and support staff. The Director oversees criminal investigations and prosecutions with the goal of obtaining criminal convictions and recovering fraudulently obtained Medicaid funds.
The MFCU Director is also responsible for external relationships with various stakeholders. MFCU's success depends upon strong partnerships with law enforcement and other government agencies across the state. The Director works closely with federal partners including managing the federal grant that allows MFCU to accomplish its work and pursuing civil recoveries when appropriate.
