Our client, a reputable healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality long-term care services, is hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Medicaid Coordinator to join their team. This full-time role is vital in ensuring seamless Medicaid processes, optimizing reimbursement, and supporting residents and their families throughout the Medicaid application and renewal procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial interviews for Medicaid applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and signatures from residents and families for application processes.
  • Order and follow up on all required documents with financial institutions and other relevant agencies.
  • Prepare and submit Medicaid applications, including conversions and recertifications.
  • Liaise with caseworkers, insurance providers, and government agencies to facilitate smooth processing.
  • File fair hearing requests and attend hearings if necessary.
  • Perform budget corrections and manage Medicaid-related financial adjustments.
  • Manage enrollments in mandatory Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) plans and educate families about income payments and signatures.
  • Discuss and coordinate private payment options with families.
  • Handle guardianship petitions when applicable.
  • Manage HMO disenrollments and MLTC enrollments.
  • Prepare requests related to establishment and continuation of payer sources, including Social Security and representative payees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the finance office of a long-term care facility.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with the Department of Social Services (DSS) or similar agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information discreetly and professionally.
