Job Summary

The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled. There is currently ONE position open at El Camino High School. This is a 7.5 hour/day, 10-month position. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, coordinate the operation of technology and media equipment and other instructional materials on a school campus; receive, process, and return textbooks and instructional media equipment; maintain inventory of print, technology devices, and instructional materials; train students and staff in the operation and maintenance of various media equipment, computers, and databases; and troubleshoot equipment problems and refer to appropriate personnel for repair.

Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by coursework in instructional media technology, telecommunications, or other related field and two years of responsible experience in the use, repair, and demonstration of various types of media and computer equipment. Knowledge of Fundamental maintenance and operation of media equipment, computers, and copy machines. Graphics production. Copyright and trademark rules, laws, and provisions. Operation of a computer and assigned software. Audiovisual materials and equipment. Principles and practices of supervision and training. Record keeping and inventory techniques. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Ability to Explain, demonstrate, and provide technical assistance in the proper use of a wide variety of media equipment. Operate a variety of media equipment. Establish and maintain computer records and files. Supervise, support, and train staff and students. Transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Work independently with little direction. Meet schedules and timelines. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Learn to troubleshoot computer network problems. Operate a computer and assigned software. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
