Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Nursing diploma or associate degree in nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS certification; NIHSS preferred
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience; experience with trauma patients is a plus
  • Other Requirements: Ability to perform PIV starts, wound care, dressing changes, and operate wound vacs and drains; proficiency in stable trach management and knowledge of bipap/cpap patients; experience with insulin and heparin drips; strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive Med/Surg nursing care for diverse patient populations, including orthopedics, cardiac, respiratory, and general medical-surgical patients.
  • Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, wound vac management, and drain care, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
  • Manage IV starts, adminster medications via drips such as insulin and heparin, and operate IV pumps accurately and safely.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalist providers, to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately within the EPIC electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
