Mechanisms Technician Department ManufacturingEmployment Type Full TimeLocation Redondo Beach Compensation 35.00 - 45.00 hourDescriptionAs a Mechanisms Technician at Impulse you will support the assembly integration test and maintenance of spacecraft mechanisms and mechanical subsystems. This role works hands-on with precision hardware that must perform reliably in launch and space environments following detailed procedures and strict quality standards.ResponsibilitiesAssemble integrate and test spacecraft mechanisms including hinges latches deployment systems actuators and release mechanismsFollow detailed work instructions engineering drawings and procedures for flight and development hardwarePerform mechanical inspections torque verification alignment and fit checksSupport functional testing environmental testing and troubleshooting of mechanismsDocument build steps nonconformances and test results in manufacturing and quality systemsMaintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardwareWork closely with engineers quality and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processesSupport rework repair and root-cause investigations as neededMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificateTechnical background in mechanical systems aerospace manufacturing or related field trade school military or equivalent experience.5 years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical assemblyAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specificationsProficient with hand tools torque tools and measurement equipment calipers micrometers torque wrenchesPreferred Skills and Experience8 years of hands-on experience with mechanismscomponents working on aerospace spacecraft satellite launch vehicle or defense manufacturingFamiliarity with cleanroom or controlled assembly environments4 years of hands-on experience with mechanism testing functional deployment or life-cycle testingAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasksAbility to lift up to 50 lbs as requiredWillingness to work flexible hours overtime or shifts as needed to support program milestonesAdditional InformationCompensation bands are determined by role level location and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills education experience technical capabilities and internal equity.
