Job Title: Mechanical (Thermal) Design Engineer
Location: Pelzer, SC

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical (Thermal) Design Engineer with 4+ years of experience in HVAC, thermal, and ventilation system design for modular data centers, telecom, and industrial facilities. The role involves designing mechanical systems, preparing layouts and construction drawings, supporting installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with building codes, and coordinating with structural, electrical, fire protection, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design HVAC, thermal, ventilation, and cooling systems.
  • Prepare equipment layouts, ductwork, cable management, and fire suppression layouts.
  • Perform thermal calculations and basic CFD analysis.
  • Develop schematic, detailed, and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
  • Review mechanical submittals and material specifications.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and integration teams.
  • Support installation, testing, commissioning, and site audits.
  • Provide technical support during pre-sales and project execution.
  • Work with customers to develop cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal preferred).
  • 4+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Experience with HVAC, thermal systems, and ventilation design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction drawings.
  • Experience with data centers or modular building projects is preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • PE License is a plus.
