What to Expect As anMechanical Technicianwith the Facilities and Construction team you will have the opportunity to work on all phases of commercial construction: Skills in all areas ofmechanical tradersare not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety ofmechanicaldisciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of tasks frompipefitting (waste and freshwater),HVAC ductwork, Unistrut and hardware installation. What You'll Do
Assist with planning, material acquisition, coordination, and communication to ensure work completion while meeting project deadlines and cost goals without impacting ongoing production
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately create equipment. Design and build basic and/or complex structures, supports, or frameworks as needed in daily tasks
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures, and support the installation, start-up, and commissioning of mechanical piping and equipment systems. Enthusiastically cross-train and support peers with project work outside of core skill sets, while identifying and communicating quality, safety, and productivity improvement opportunities
Accurately log work hours, material consumption, and engage in training on new tools, systems, equipment, and procedures. Install new waste piping, water piping, compressed air piping, supports, racks, related panels, and devices. Work with various piping types, including copper, stainless steel, PVC, cast iron, and carbon steel
Use P&IDs, spool drawings, and shop drawings to plan work scopes, install improvements, and troubleshoot issues. Familiarity with HVAC ductwork installation fresh air and exhaust system.
Perform a wide variety of job scopes from planning and execution to cleanup and material handling
Display positive attitudes and practice good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company. Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in pipefitting/welding at journeyman level or higher in industrial or commercial settings
Strong knowledge in installing and troubleshooting all types of plumbing systems
Ability to interpret P&IDs, shop and spool drawings, specifications, shop/fabrication drawings, and UPC codes
Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based on drawings or field observations and routing
Ability to produce as-built drawings for work performed
Ability to test and commission all work per Tesla procedures and building department codes
Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required

Construction Technician I - $28.80 - $33.52/hour
Construction Technician II - $34.63 - $38.28/hour
Construction Technician III - $37.38 - $43.44/hour
