Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical engineer with expertise in Interface Adapters, cables, connectors, and building Bills of Materials (BOMs) to develop proposals that detail parts, labor, and associated costs for complex build-to-print assemblies.
- This role involves working with Interface Test Assemblies/Adapters and other highly technical Automated Test components.
- Note: There is no or minimal design work with the role.
Responsibilities:
• Act as technical liaison between the customer, engineering, assembly and procurement
• Building and pricing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various Interface Test Assemblies/Adapters, cables, other BCO product, based on a drawing package that typically includes dimensional drawings, parts list, wiring diagrams, fab files, Gerber files, and ASME Y14.100 dimensional drawings.
• Produce working bills of materials at the level sufficient for purchasing group to distribute requests for quote, or place order for material.
- This activity includes make/buy decisions for cost proposals, selection of a particular machined part/sheet metal part supplier for individual BOM items
• Translate BOMs into detailed proposals, incorporating all labor costs necessary for assembly.
• Work with suppliers and internal procurement for sourcing cables, connectors, and other required materials, ensuring all elements are accounted for in the proposal.
• Follow an established Build-to-Print process, with all designs and specifications provided by the client.
• Maintain a close working relationship with internal teams, ensuring timely and accurate project execution. Qualifications:
• B.S. ME preferred (or other engineering degree), 5–7-year experience
• US Citizenship is required
Pay rate range, $50.00 - $58.00hr
