Mechanical Integrity Engineer – Pressure Systems

Bring your fixed equipment expertise to Chemours’ Thermal & Specialized Solutions Business at our Corpus Christi Plant in Ingleside, TX. In this plant-support role reporting to the Manufacturing Technology Manager, you’ll partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Technology to elevate safety performance, reliability, OEE, and cost effectiveness.

What you will tackle

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and modify static/mechanical equipment and facilities.
  • Coach operators and mechanics; provide technical troubleshooting and training.
  • Assure projects meet specifications, engineering standards, and QA requirements.
  • Own PSM criticality assessments to drive MIQA deliverables: critical spares, SAP master data, inspection plans/frequencies, maintenance procedures.
  • Use trend, history, and uptime data to justify improvements that reduce life-cycle cost.
  • Lead/participate in Safety, Reliability, and Quality investigations.
  • Engage with maintenance/reliability networks to share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Perform FMEA; build maintenance plans with operator/mechanic checks and predictive PPM.
  • Support cost and capital projects from scope and justification through installation of new/modified assets.
  • Keep your technical edge through training, seminars, and professional involvement.
  • Provide shift/weekend coverage for start-ups, testing, turnarounds, and other non-routine needs.

Must-have qualifications

  • ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).
  • 2+ years of relevant industrial/manufacturing experience in fixed equipment (intern/co-op experience may count).
  • Working knowledge of piping, pressure vessels, valves, and welding; depth grows with experience.
  • Data-driven problem solver.
  • Effective independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; convert stakeholder needs into action.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a steadfast commitment to safety and timely execution.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, urgent timelines, and emergencies.
  • Comfort with required PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.).

Nice-to-have experience

  • 3–11+ years in manufacturing/industrial settings or military equivalent.
  • Maintenance and reliability best practices, including work management processes.
  • Materials science fundamentals (selection, properties).
  • NDT, welding, fabrication, and vendor management.
  • Codes/standards: ASME BPVC Section VIII; ASME B31; API (e.g., API 510, API 570).
  • RCFA and FMEA.
  • Data analysis, statistical techniques, and failure investigations.
  • Engineering design standards and capital/cost justification.
  • PSM or OSHA high-hazard process experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems.
  • Previous experience working with SAP or related software.
