Mechanical Inspector
Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday through Friday
Pay: $30-$35 p/h, DOE
Location: Brea, CA
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting manufactured aviation components and precision-machined parts to ensure compliance with engineering, customer, and quality requirements. This role supports manufacturing operations by delivering high-quality products on time and ensuring adherence to established inspection standards and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret work orders, inspection manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection and testing requirements.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
- Perform functional, dimensional, and visual inspections on parts and assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Record inspection and test data, document findings, and identify nonconforming materials or products.
- Approve, reject, or segregate parts and materials based on inspection results and established quality criteria.
- Collaborate with vendors, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams regarding inspection results and corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain supplier quality records and supporting documentation used for production verification and traceability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in special projects as needed to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, electronics, manufacturing, or a similar regulated environment.
- Experience working within ISO-compliant quality systems.
- Proficiency with:
- Verisurf
- MBD/DPD
- Mastercam X7 CAD/CAM
- Shoptech E2 or similar ERP systems
- Skilled in the calibration and use of precision inspection tools
- Experience operating:
- Mitutoyo B-231 Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- ROMER ARM portable inspection system
- Wilson Rockwell Hardness Tester
