Job Details

Responsibilities -
+ Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects
+ Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to fully understand project scope and requirements
+ Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems
+ Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations
+ Develop pricing strategies, scope qualifications, exclusions, and proposal documentation
+ Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP plans to identify scope impacts and potential risks
+ Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives
+ Collaborate with business development teams to support proposal development and bid submissions
+ Communicate project risks, scope concerns, specification issues, and bid clarifications to internal stakeholders and clients
+ Maintain organized bid files, estimating records, and project documentation
+ Participate in customer meetings, project interviews, and preconstruction discussions as needed
+ Support project turnover meetings to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to operations
+ Assist with contract reviews, change order pricing, and project negotiations when required
+ Mentor and support junior estimators as appropriate


Qualifications -
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred
+ Minimum 2 years of estimating experience within commercial mechanical construction required
+ Experience estimating HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, or MEP systems
+ Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, methods, and building systems
+ Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
+ Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing comprehensive project estimates
+ Knowledge of vendor and subcontractor procurement processes
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
+ Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and construction management platforms
